Quality Manager

About the Role:

As a Quality Manager, you will:

  • Work directly with customers in the resolution of onsite quality and process issues including husbandry and water quality which includes traveling to customer locations to perform onsite root cause analysis with customer staff.
  • Educate customer on best practices to ensure reliable operation of Avidity Science equipment.
  • Ensure that the latest water quality processes are understood throughout the organization.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a water quality training program for internal and external customers.
  • Make presentations to various customers explaining procedures and processes of water treatment and distribution.
  • Develop, recommend and implement continuous quality improvement objectives. 
  • Manage and monitor software functionality and data output including setup and maintenance of gauging equipment on the shop floor.
  • Monitor SPC process for process capability and make adjustments to control limits as necessary through capability studies and control chart reviews.
  • Provide feedback to internal and external customers involving complaints, corrective actions and manufacturing issues.
  • Manage and direct quality activities to ensure customer product quality and timely responses to customer issues.
  • Manage the water testing and analysis process ensuring factual information is provided to the customer along with accurate remediation steps as necessary.
  • Work with design engineering and manufacturing in the determination of key measurement characteristics.
  • Support the development of new product development through various quality techniques such as lessons learned and past issues.
  • Establish and maintain the corrective and preventive action system to ensure the prevention of existing and potential causes of product, process and system non-conformances.
  • Conduct corrective action meetings and related tasks.
  • Monitor corrective actions for timeliness, completion and accuracy.
  • Monitor internal product quality levels and manage corrective action process.
  • Conduct Deviation and Document Change Notice (DCN) submittal, disposition and resolution.
  • Revise work instructions and procedures as necessary as dictated by corrective actions.
  • Participate in Material Review Boards (MRB) to provide proper non-conforming disposition and awareness of product related issues.
  • In conjunction with Purchasing, drive supplier development, define supplier quality requirements, identify supplier defects that result in customer issues and drive corrective actions. Monitor the status of supplier quality results through audits and continual measures.
  • Lead and conduct supplier audits.
  • Manage the staff of the Quality Department.  Provide Proactive leadership and development of direct reports; facilitate regular team and one-on-one meetings.
  • Support the personal growth and career development paths of Quality team members.
  • Ensure that quality systems and measures are established and utilized to drive continual improvement.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the document control, supplier development, customer valve and water quality analysis, and media room processes.
  • Instill the philosophy of defect prevention to transition away from the concept of defect detection. Identify, initiate, establish and maintain the statistical requirements to ensure product and process conformance.
  • Conduct internal and external audits for ISO compliance.
  • Participate in the development of processes related to ISO.

Position Requirements/Preferences:
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience in water quality and management of quality systems with knowledge of chemistry, biology, reverse osmosis, chemical additives, chlorination and acidification, a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Life Science or operations management.


Senior Manager, Operations:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Manager, Operations to direct manufacturing operations through a team of functional manager and supervisors. As a Senior Manager, Operations, you will deliver increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machinery, commensurate with quality and delivery requirements.

About the Role:

As a Senior Manager, Operations you will:  

  • Develop and implement the most effective (cost, quality, flexibility) manufacturing process across all product families using Lean Manufacturing principles where applicable.
  • Develop and implement activities related to timely, cost effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of materials.
  • Lead continual improvement philosophy in Manufacturing and SCM
  • Participate in the development of Operational and Functional plans for Manufacturing and SCM and lead the required resources in the completion of these plans.
  • Develop appropriate policies and ensure compliance of all company policies across the manufacturing and supply chain organization.
  • Direct and review all manufacturing and Supply Chain Management activities to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Assess competency, capacity and capabilities of resources and adjust as necessary.
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality objectives are met.
  • Point person for outsourcing, partnerships and contract manufacturing opportunities.
  • Support the personal growth and career development paths of employees.
  • Initiate, justify and implement Capital Expenditure Requests.
  • Approve major designs of tooling and fixtures.
  • Work with Product Engineering for manufacturability of parts.
  • Keep current with technological advances within the company and the industry.
  • Direct and review all safety related activities for the entire organization.
  • Enforce Safety and 5S standards according to company policy.

 

Position Requirements/Preferences:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations management or related field, at least 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing or a combination of both education and experience. Candidate will also have knowledge and understanding of all manufacturing processes, distribution, logistics and forecasting.


Machining Operator – Welding Department

About the Role:

As Machining Operator, you will:

  • Operate multiple types of machinery and equipment throughout the Welding department
  • Perform various tasks including automatic welding, cutting pipe to length, degreasing and washing product, bending pipe and operating the end finisher in accordance with Avidity Science specifications and quality standards. 

Position Requirements/Preferences:
High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.  The qualified candidate must have the ability to learn to set-up, run and troubleshoot all equipment in Welding in a safe manner, read and interpret measuring devices, drawings and blueprints and the ability to display a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
